Sales taxes and customs duty
When shipping our resources outside of the UK, the US and Australia there are likely to be taxes and/or custom duty charges that apply. Where possible we try to offer multiple shipping options including DAP (delivery duties not paid) and DDP (delivery duties paid).
For any shipping options other than DDP, Extend Education is unable to calculate the taxes and/or customs duty charges and the recipient is liable for any charges.
EU Orders after Brexit
Since the UK has left the EU, any EU customers buying directly from Extend Education are no longer able to benefit from purchasing books tax free. Import tax, at your local VAT/GST rate, is now payable when the books are imported. Books attract a reduced rate of sales tax in the EU and the rate charged varies by country, ranging from 0% (Ireland) to 12% (Latvia). You can check your local rate on this website.
The tax is payable when the book is imported and will be charged by the shipping company prior to making the delivery. If this is paid promptly it shouldn’t slow down the delivery of your order.
Non-trackable shipping options
If the shipping option you select does not include tracking, this means the package cannot be tracked during any point of transit, including whether the carrier received the package. Extend Education is not responsible for lost and/or damaged shipments when these shipping options are used.
Service updates
We use a combination of national postal operators and international couriers to fulfil orders. They issue service bulletins which we monitor in order to avoid unforeseen delays. If your order is affected we will try to contact you before shipping.
As of March 2022, a number of countries are still reporting delays due to local restrictions and customs clearance backlogs caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
