About the authors
Adam Doughton

Adam Doughton is currently Assistant Headteacher at St Joseph’s RC High School in Newport. He was previously Head of History and continues to teach both WJEC GCSE and A Level History. Adam is currently an examiner, moderator and team leader across GCSE and A Level History. He was a specification developer for the new specification and has authored blended learning resources for WJEC and delivered professional learning for the new specification across Wales. He also provides curriculum and assessment professional learning for the Education Achievement Service as the Partner School representative for History.
Nyree Miles

Nyree is Head of History at St Joseph’s RC High School in Newport, with nine years of experience teaching History to students aged 11 to 18. She also works as an examiner for both GCSE and A Level History, bringing valuable insight into curriculum and assessment. Nyree is passionate about making history engaging and accessible for all learners, and is committed to helping students connect with the past in meaningful ways.
